Classification of pragmatic difficulties

Pragmatic delay
The child’s pragmatic competence is developed by following the expected evolution but with a certain degree of discrepancy in connection with what is expected for his/her age.

Pragmatic disorganization
It is showed through messy communicative behaviors that influence the possibility of expressing his communicative intent. It is necessary to analyze whether such disorganization is due to a compromise or poor development of executive functions, social skills, or to poor stimulation. A clear indicator of disorganization is the fact that having guidelines and/or a therapeutic approach communicative competence improves considerably in a relatively short time.

Pragmatic alteration
It shows a disorder of several pragmatic features assessed, among which coherence is the most important.
