ICRA-N Battery instruments, within a neurolinguistic assessment, allow the therapist to make a systematic analysis of the child’s minimum narrative competence, from the concepts of pragmatic linguistics related to discourse analysis.
Although the competence to re-narrate and comprehend narratives are the axis of analysis of ICRA-N Battery as they set the foundation for launching spontaneous discourse, the assessment and treatment of descriptive language is the starting point to begin its approach. Once minimum narrative formats are developed, the following goal is to reach spontaneous conversational language. To start work on descriptive language, it is necessary to have already developed the seven basic speech acts.
